FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About Working with Brentwood Speech Therapy

Do you accept insurance?

As a private pay practice, I do not accept insurance. I do provide a “superbill” upon request, which clients may submit to their own insurance for reimbursement.

Where are services provided?

Services are provided at our home-office. When appropriate, teletherapy services may be provided remotely. Please reach out if you would like to discuss the potential for online therapy.

When are payments due for sessions?

Payment is due at the point of service, and will be collected at the end of each session.

What is your attendance and cancellation policy?

Consistent therapy attendance is important for progress. In the event of unforeseen events or illness, we require a cancellation notice 24-hours in advance.

What ages do you work with?

I work with school-age children, teens, and adults.

What do caregiver/parent coaching services look like?

I support parents and caregivers by providing education, guidance, and support for carry over and generalization of skills across all settings. Sessions may take place in-person, via teletherapy, or over the phone.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

I provide a free 15–20-minute phone consultation where you can discuss your concerns, share about your child’s development, and discuss next steps. If necessary, I may recommend an informal and/or formal evaluation.

What is the scope of practice of a speech-language pathologist (SLP)?

Speech therapists work with individuals of all ages to provide assessment and intervention in the areas of literacy, communication, and swallowing disorders, in various settings, such as hospitals, clinics, schools, and private practice.
